Segmentator License Agreement

This agreement is between you and Hyprous LLC (“Hyprous”). Accept this agreement and the Privacy Notice by click-through before using the test service. If either changes, you must accept the current version before your next sign-in.

What you are licensed to do: use Segmentator to produce STAPLE records for documents within the scope of your plan, for the term of your plan.

Scope: every STAPLE you issue states the scope of your plan. A STAPLE issued under a plan records the checks and completion status reported for that document; it is not a statement that the document is correct, and Hyprous does not check the content of your document, sources, or quotes.

No AI in the STAPLE process: no AI performs any function of the STAPLE process. AI may be used by Hyprous for sales and account administration only.

Your content: you own your drafts, documents, conversations, and STAPLEs. Hyprous stores them so the software works and does not use them for any other purpose. The Privacy Notice is part of this agreement.

STAPLE links: a STAPLE link opens the issued STAPLE, with its chat-history choice recorded at issue, for anyone who holds the link, with no login. You decide who receives it. You can delete a STAPLE at any time; its link will then show that you deleted it and the date. When your plan ends: you can still sign in to view or delete your STAPLEs and drafts, but you cannot issue new STAPLEs until a plan is active again. STAPLE links you already issued stay live for as long as Hyprous operates.

Acceptable use: do not upload content you have no right to upload, do not share login codes, and do not use Segmentator to misrepresent who did the work or how it was checked.

Changes: Hyprous may update this agreement with 30 days notice by email. You must accept the updated agreement by click-through before your next sign-in after it changes.

Liability: Segmentator is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Hyprous is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on a STAPLE or on a document covered by one, and its total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your current plan term.

Segmentator Privacy Notice

What we store: your account email and full name; your drafts, pasted or uploaded documents, AI conversation links and stored conversations, transcript exports, quote verifies, screenshots, heat map ratings, stakes answers, reviewer comments, and issued STAPLEs.

Why: so Segmentator can run the STAPLE process and keep your STAPLE links live. We use your content for nothing else.

Who can see your content: only you, and anyone you give a STAPLE link or second reviewer link to. Hyprous staff cannot open your drafts, documents, conversations, or STAPLE contents unless you grant access to a specific record for support. Every staff access is logged and visible to you in your account. Support and account recovery work at the account level and never open your content.

What we do not do: we do not sell your content or send it to an AI provider for the STAPLE process. Infrastructure providers, including our hosting, database, and email providers, process service data to operate the service. No AI performs any function of the STAPLE process.

Security: the current private test service uses HTTPS for browser connections. At-rest encryption, backup recovery, deletion across backups, and access controls remain unvalidated for release. The server processes document content, so we do not claim zero-knowledge or end-to-end encryption. Use fictional documents only. The test service is not approved for confidential client documents or institutional student records. Deletion periods and recovery objectives below are service targets, not validated guarantees for the test service.

STAPLE links: anyone holding a STAPLE link can see its shared document, heat map, quote verifies, reviewer comments, and other issued record details without logging in. Include AI chat history is off by default for new records. When off, every browser response, including your signed-in workspace, support views, exports, shared reports, APIs, and PDFs, omits stored chat, prompts, chat-derived metadata, and original attachments. Private originals remain on the server for processing until deletion under this notice. Turning this choice on allows your browser and shared output to include the stored AI conversation. The choice is disclosed before review and issue and is frozen in the issued revision. Changing it before issue invalidates review and requires renewed disclosure. Records predating this choice retain their historical behavior until you explicitly choose otherwise. The document, evidence, identities, reviewer comments, and freeform text may still disclose confidential information. Withholding chat does not erase earlier recipient downloads, copies, device memory, or upstream AI-provider records. Links are long and random and are not indexed by search engines. Before issuing, you see a screen stating exactly what the link exposes. Share links only with people who should see that content.

Email: the only email the Segmentator app sends is your login code. There are no notification or invitation emails. Review invitations use links you copy and share yourself.

Retention: drafts and STAPLEs are kept until you delete them. A deleted STAPLE’s content is removed within 30 days; its link then shows only that you deleted it and the date. Recovery targets: no loss of issued STAPLEs; at most 24 hours of draft work lost after an incident; service restored within 24 hours. These are targets, not guarantees.

Instructor lists: if an instructor lists you for a course, we store your email and full name on that list, and an append-only log records which instructor added or removed you and when. Account deletion removes all your stored document and conversation content within 30 days, with dated tombstones for issued links. While Hyprous operates, it retains content-free logs of administrator record access, professor-to-email permissions, STAPLE issuance and deletion, and login events. These logs never contain document or conversation content.

Your rights: you can view, download, and delete your STAPLEs and drafts at any time. To delete your account, contact systems@hyprous.com; your content is removed within 30 days, and STAPLE links you issued will show as deleted.
